As our Autumn Term comes to an end, I would like to thank you for your full support in all that we have done and achieved. Our class have worked extremely hard throughout this term and we have embraced the challenges that have come our way. Well done Year 6. You are stars.

My website update this week is dedicated to our theme day. What a super day we had on Tuesday as we welcomed
our VE celebrations into Year 6. Your outfits and props amazed us all. Thank you Year 6.

We began our day by completing crosswords, plane drawings, solving codes and answering quiz questions. We then went on to think about the 8th of May 1945 – VE Day. We created table decorations by designing our own bunting for our afternoon tea. We created a cinema in our classroom and then went on to enjoy the first hour of Goodnight Mr Tom.

After lunch and filled we excitement, we began the preparations for our great- grandparents, grandparents, and parents’ afternoon tea. The hall looked fabulous with all your hard work Year 6. Well done. We welcomed our visitors into the hall and
served afternoon tea with pride. Your singing and dancing were well received, and I know how much your visitors enjoyed dancing the Charleston with you. Your food donations looked delicious on each cake stand. Thank you for all your support and please pass on my thanks to all great-grandparents and grandparents. Our VE day celebrations came to life as we danced and sang to our audience. Thank you to Miss Holland who has taught Year 6 their dances and all their wartime songs during her music lessons. We were extremely proud to share out theme day and thank everyone for sparing the time to share the last moments of this term’s topic with us.

Well done Year 6. You are brilliant role models and many visitors commented on how much they enjoyed our
event.

I will not be setting any new homework for the Christmas period. The only homework I would like my children to complete is to:

· Enjoy your family time together

· Enjoy family lazy days

· Share a game with friends

· Enjoy your favourite Christmas film

Most of all take good care of yourselves, recharge your batteries and have a very merry Christmas.

Thank you for all your kind words and gifts I feel very spoilt. All that is left for me to say is Merry Christmas and I hope you all stay safe and enjoy your family time.

Your Teacher,

Mrs B.
