This morning we celebrated St David's day. We learned that St David was the patron saint of Wales and was a monk that taught people of God.
After learning that St David's Day is commemorated by the wearing of daffodils or leeks. We explored leeks and daffodils. We used our leeks to create marks with paint, cut out pictures to make a hat and painted our very own pictures of daffodils.
This afternoon we had lots of fun celebrating Shrove Tuesday. We flipped pancakes, drew a picture of the toppings we would add to make our perfect pancake, squeezed lemons and ate a pancake for snack, we enjoyed a traditional topping of sugar and lemon – yum!
