We've had another fantastic week at Preschool filled with lots of activities and learning opportunities as part of our ongoing "Growing" theme.

This week, we put our creativity to work by working together to make a scarecrow for our garden. The children then each drew a face for the scarecrow, which they took turns trying on him.
We paired it with a read-aloud of "The Lonely Scarecrow", and our rhyme of the week was the playful "Dingle Dangle Scarecrow."

In our garden, the children got their hands dirty digging and raking in the growing patch, where we planted out our 'Beanstalk' and the rest of our beans and peas--watering them
carefully to help them grow.

During our Heart Smart session, we explored being ourselves through pretending to be different animals, emphasizing the message that being yourself is the best.
We also had a lively music session where the children experimented with the volume and speed of different musical instruments, enhancing their understanding of sounds.

We practiced our scissor skills by cutting long grass in the garden, a great way for them to develop their fine motor skills.

Storytelling was especially fun this week as we worked together to create a story map and the children then told their own stories, which we acted out in preschool, with everyone having fun joining in with the acting.

Our older children worked really hard in phonics, where we focused on the sounds "s" and "d". The children have learnt these quickly and we are very proud of them. The younger children continued to look at feelings, enjoying the stories of the 'Colour monster' and 'Squirrel is sad'

We had a blast on Thursday practicing for our upcoming Sports Day, with everyone doing brilliantly, trying their best and cheering on their friends. We wrapped up the week with a relaxing yoga session, a perfect end to a busy week.

Next week, we will continue our preparations for Sports Day. We also plan to sort things by height and measure our growing plants to observe and record their growth.

Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm. We look forward to another wonderful week ahead at Preschool.
