Preschool News 31.03.23

Well, we have had another busy week in Preschool! This week the children have engaged in a range of Easter themed activities. They have combined rice puffs and chocolate to make Easter cakes, used their handprints to create an Easter cross picture and used lots of different resources to make fabulous Easter eggs.
We have listened to the Easter story and explored the different signs and symbols of Easter, focusing on new life.

The children have also enjoyed lots of different Easter themed books and have especially enjoyed our rhyme of the week 'Sleeping Bunnies'

We have continued to explore capacity in the water tray and have also been looking at different patterns, matching patterns on Easter eggs and making a talley of our favourite patterns.

In literacy we have created our own oral story called 'The hungry snake' and again acted out our own stories in Helicopter story time. We have been listening out for the sound 't' and have been starting to oral blend three sound words together.

In our Heartsmart session we played the emoji game with the children talking about when they have felt, happy, sad, shocked and excited.

In the outdoor area they have taken part in an obstacle course, moving under, through and over objects and racing around the reception outdoor area.

Next term our theme will be growing and we will be beginning this by planting beans and hopefully seeing our grass grow!
