Preschool News 28.4.23

We started this week in preschool by celebrating St George's Day. We listened to the story of St George and the dragon, dressed up as knights, princesses and dragons, coloured and painted flags and finally we had a go at morris dancing, which was lots of fun!

On Monday we also had another turn at doing the fun activities from Mr Dale's Marathon Madness, the children really enjoyed this. Thank you to the PTA members for coming and setting this up for us.

The children took part in a 'Gnome hunt' on Wednesday, searching the preschool garden for the differently numbered gnomes and ticking them off on their gnome hunt sheets.

On Thursday the children made treasure maps after discussing what exciting lands and seas they could include. They then scrumpled them up and aged them with a tea bag for an authentic look.

We have continued our theme of growing this week with all of the children planting their very own 'bean in a bag'. We will keep you posted on how they are growing. We have also learned a new rhyme 'I'm a little Bean' with the children joining in with the words and actions.

Our main craft this week has been a rainbow collage activity with the children using different couloured paper to make beautiful rainbows.

In literacy we have looked at the sound 'a' and continued with our oral blending Fred Games.

In Heart smart this week we listened to the story of 'The truth according to Arthur' we then talked about the importance of telling the truth and not telling tales to our friends and grown ups.

Next week we are going Coronation Crazy! with lots of fun activities and crafts.
