Celebrating Easter and the Joy of New Beginnings!
This week, our preschoolers embarked on an exciting journey, exploring the theme of Easter, spring and new life. Here's a glimpse of our week filled with learning, creativity, and joy
Our week was dedicated to understanding Easter and celebrating new beginnings. Through various Easter crafts, our little learners got to express their creativity while learning about the significance of this joyous time.
Our in our literacy focus this week we explored alliteration with the sound 't', turning our classroom into a thrilling terrain of terrific 't' words!
We have also continued to dive into the traditional tale of "Goldilocks and the Three Bears," we enjoyed storytelling sessions that not only enhanced our listening skills but also sparked discussions about respect and empathy.
Our Heartsmart game this week was a hit, we focused on emotions and how we express them through facial expressions. It was a fantastic way to understand and respect our feelings and those of others.
Engaging in Easter arts and crafts has helped to develop our fine motor skills, from painting to pasting, cutting and colouring, ensuring our little hands were busy and learning. Our Easter art egg-stravaganza found us creating vibrant Easter pictures, and crafting pasta Easter eggs, our creativity has been in full bloom.
"Sleeping Bunnies" was our rhyme of the week, encouraging us to listen, move, and then pause, all while having a hopping good time!
For our understanding the world we spent time looking at new life through the lens of animals and their babies, this offered us a glimpse into the wonders of nature. We have also looked at the traditions surrounding Easter and we have explored how Easter is observed, from the joy of finding chocolate eggs to the traditions of visiting church and sharing hot cross buns.
Egg-citing pattern matching on Easter eggs introduced us to the fun of recognizing similarities and differences in our maths focus and we have also continued to enjoy checking off our tally charts and singing lots of number rhymes!
The water tray has became our experimental lab, where we explored capacity in the most playful manner.
To finish the week we enjoyed a relaxing yoga session, stretching and unwinding, ready to greet the holidays with open arms and calm minds.
As we say goodbye to an incredible term, we look forward with excitement to our next theme: "My Planet and Me." A journey that promises to be filled with discovery, learning, gardening, planting and caring for our world.
Thank you, families, for your support throughout this term. It's been a journey filled with growth, laughter, and learning. We wish you a wonderful Easter break and can't wait to welcome our preschoolers back for more adventures.
With warmest Easter wishes,
