This week in preschool we have been busy with lots of 'Bear Hunt' themed activities.
We have been on a walk around our outdoor area, moving over, around, through, behind and under different things. We enjoyed bear hunt yoga on Wednesday and we have used our sense of touch to explore feely boxes containing mud, water, grass and sticks.
On Friday we went on a barefoot bear hunt!. We walked through the swishy swashy grass, some squelchy mud, we spashed in some water and some ice, and then tiptoed through the tunnel to find a bear!
We have also been learning prepositions with our friend the monkey, hiding him and telling our friends that he is on, under, infront or behind us.
In our Heart smart session this week we have looked at the materials Boris is made of and have begun making our very own junk model Boris'.
Boris says 'We are learning to be HeartSmart'
Our bible reference is 'In the beginning God created the sky and the earth'
Our rhyme of the week has been 'The Bear went over the Mountain' we have listened to lots of stories from our favourite book basket and have listened to another version of our traditional tale ' The enormous turnip'
Next week we will be starting colour related activities, reading 'Brown Bear Brown Bear' and we will be introducing 'The Colour Monster'
