What a lovely week of pumpkin fun we have had in preschool. The children have taken part in lots of different pumpkin themed activities.
We have continued our Wonderful me theme using our senses of smell and taste this week. We scooped out pumpkins and roasted the seeds. We also made and tasted our own pumpkin soup. We explored different smells including mint, ginger, thyme, orange and honey.
We have listened to the story of Patch the Pumpkin who taught us that when we care for others the light shines within us. We have also used his story to develop our four preschool rules, We are kind, We share, We help each other and We include everybody.
The children also made and decorated their own pumpkin biscuits helping to measure, stir and roll the mixture.
We have used our fine motor skills to paint pumpkins, hammer shapes and pins into pumpkins, we have used scissors to cut and snip pumpkin pictures and we have used tweezers to pick pumpkin seeds out of pumpkin slime.
The children have enjoyed singing our rhyme of the week '5 little pumpkins' acting out how the pumpkins are feeling.
Thank you for posting your home news onto our seesaw app, the children have really enjoyed sharing it with their friends.
Next term we are starting our new theme of 'Transport and people who help us'.
We hope you have an amazing week off and we will see you all on the 31st October.
