We would like to begin by thanking our first mystery reader in preschool. The children really enjoyed the story of The Ugly Five by one of our favourite authors Julia Donaldson. If you would like to be a mystery reader on one of your child's days please ask in preschool and we will arrange it!
This week we have been looking at different ways of travelling on land. The children have had a great time riding scooters, pushing prams and riding hobby horses around the preschool/reception path. They have made marks using different types of vehicles and have enjoyed playing with cars and trains in preschool. We have also been singing our rhyme of the week 'The wheels on the bus'
We have listened to and sung along with the story 'We all go travelling by' and we have story mapped our focus story 'The Train Ride'. In Oral story time we made up our own story 'The boy and the Wizard', following this several children then wrote their own oral story maps.
We have investigated the number 3 this week with the children practicing showing finger numbers and finding 3 items to go in our 3 collection.
In our Heartsmart session we talked about how Boris is special and how we are all special in different ways. We then played an action game.
In music we took turns to play bells, shakers and claves, singing along to the song 'I hear music'
Next week we will be looking at ways of travelling in water.
