Preschool News 14.10.22

This week in preschool we have been learning about the change in the seasons with the children taking part in lots of autumn themed activities.

On Monday we went for an Autumn walk around the school grounds looking for the different signs of autumn. We have listened to a story about a hedgehog who was looking for a home and had great fun on a hedgehog hunt; looking in, behind and under for the hidden hedgehogs.

We have continued our Wonderful me theme by exploring our sense of touch. The children have joined in a carpet session activity where they described a hidden object using only their sense of touch e.g. spiky, hard, smooth. They have also used touch to explore our autumn object trays.

In our maths session this week we have looked at the composition of 3 with our new rhyme 3 little leaves.

In Our Heartsmart session this week we have been thinking about feelings and have listened to a story called 'Squirrel is sad' We have also sung the song 'If you are happy and you know it' adding new verses for sad, tired, hungry and angry.

Thank you for the positive comments on Seesaw it is lovely to see them. If you would like to add any photos of activities or special things you do at home it would be fantastic to share these with the children at news time.

Next week is Pumpkin week, where we will be exploring all things pumpkin! We will have pumpkin painting, pumpkin playdough, pumpkin crafts, and pumpkin slime.
