This week has flown by.. It began with the excitement of snow and ended with us coming together to film the final scenes of our nativity. We can't wait to share it with you all very soon.

In other news..

In our communication and language development, we have been retelling the story "We're Going on a Bear Hunt". We explored prepositions and have enjoyed using our voices to create the different sound effects e.g. swishy swashy.

To support our personal, social and emotional development, we continued with our HeartSmart unit – I am special. This week we talked about how we demonstrate different emotions. First Boris reminded us that we are all special and so our are hearts. the heart pumps blood around our bodies to keep us alive. It is also a place where we often experience our feelings. When our hearts feel happy the rest of our body feels happy. We then looked at pictures of different emotions and discussed how these could make our body act. We decided happy and excited were our favourite emotions and made us feel good.
Boris says, 'When our hearts our happy, we are happy'.

Within our physical development, we have taken part in 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' yoga. We listened carefully to Jamie the yoga instructor and worked hard to tackle all the different yoga poses. To support our fine motor development, we have continued to enjoy our squiggle while you wiggle sessions and our older children have been working hard to use the rhyme 'nip, flip and grip' to support their pencil grip.

During our literacy sessions, we have continued to recall the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears – can you believe we no longer need our story map to help us – wow! During our writing activity we created cards to say sorry to Baby Bear from Goldilocks.

On Wednesday we received some special post. Amongst the post we had a letter from Santa. He set us the task to write him a letter of the presents we would like for Christmas. We then addressed our envelope and posted our letters in our very own 'magic' post box. We hope you received our letters Santa!

We have explored numberblocks and numbers as part of our mathematics development. We have also played a variety of board games which involve us counting an amount.

We have continued to retell the story of Jesus' birth to support our understanding the world development. Today we brought this story alive as we filmed the final parts of our nativity. We can't wait to share it with you all very soon.

We were so excited to be able to play out in the snow at the beginning of this week, so within our expressive arts and design development, we have created a variety of snowy themed pictures. We have also continued to sing a variety of Christmas songs but I think Jingle bells is still our favourite.

During our free play, we have painted pictures, played board games, made paper chains, explored ice, created cards and letters, fought with dinosaurs, escaped lava, been to the café, brushed up leaves and enjoyed developing our ball skills!

I think we can say it has been another busy week!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone and I look forward to seeing you all next week.
