Preschool News 02.12.22

Christmas has started this week in preschool this week. The children have enjoyed decorating and then re-decorating our Christmas tree, colouring in Christmas pictures and starting our Christmas crafts. We have also been very busy learning our Christmas songs.

We have also continued our transport theme looking at things that travel through the air. We looked at the many different ways we could travel in the air and enjoyed listening to the song 'up up up'. We also took turns sorting out different ways of travelling on land, water and in the air.

Thank you to our two mystery readers this week, who both chose fantastic stories to read to the children. They are very excited by our mystery reader times and look forward to it all day.

We have used a drum to tap out the rhythm in different words this week, as well as continuing to clap out the rhythm of our names.

We have been continuing to practice our gross and fine motor skills, joining in with lots of action rhymes, some festive dough gym and pencil control activities.

At rhyme time we have learned a new number rhyme '5 mince pies in a bakers shop' with the children enjoying buying their mince pies!

In the outdoor area the children have enjoyed playing in the piles of dried leaves under our oak tree. They have been racing cars down the path and have been playing hopscotch.

Next week we will be continuing with our Christmas crafts and activities, and hopefully recording our Nativity.
