Dentist Visit – Preschool

A huge thank you to Lucas' mummy for coming to talk to us this morning about her role as a dentist.

She started of by asking us "What do we use our teeth for?". We found out that teeth help us to smile, eat and speak.

Next, we listened to the story 'Dinosaur Douglas and the Beastly Bugs' and talked about keeping our teeth healthy. We learned that too much sugar is not good for our teeth. We then looked at different foods and drinks and discussed whether they were good or bad for our teeth. Finally we placed them on the good smile or the bad smile.

We talked about how else we could keep our teeth healthy. We then all practiced brushing large model teeth. We start brushing the outside first, then brush inside top and bottom teeth, lastly bite teeth together and brush, we should do this for 2 minutes day and night.

What a great day we had. Thank you for teaching us how important it is to look after our teeth and for the wonderful goody bags to go home with :)
