A fabulous week in Year 6 from Sports Day to ink printing, we have had it all going on. Year 6 you make me smile each day and you impress me with your dedication and hard work. You are all ready for your next steps, and with just two weeks to go I will be sure to pack in as much as we can together.

This week we completed running our theme parks, well some of us did as others went bust! Well done to Freddie and Isaac who ran the most profitable park and even managed to pay some of their bank loan back.

We completed our nonsense poem this week using the title The City of Silence. You have used your abstract and collective nouns to build an effective poem Year 6. Well done.

Our book club sessions have turned into study work sessions as we have worked on our Geography and Courageous Advocacy pages. We have also completed an art page too.

We have recapped our SpaG knowledge this week using Spagtastic and Topmarks. We have also played Pointless thinking about spelling patterns.

We have been busy in our afternoons learning our leavers songs in Music and we are now thinking about our words too. We will all get new words to learn soon. Our Leavers Service is at Church on 19th July at 1.30pm.

We have now created our own species in science and thought about its adaptive traits to survive in its marine environment. The ideas and designs are impressive.

We welcomed Mr Harrison-Blount into school this week for a first aid workshop. We recapped our class learning on choking and used the vest to use the thrust procedure to clear an object. We also went through DRSABC and DE when arriving at an incident. We used the CPR dummies to practice our own CPR and found out just how much energy you need to give compressions. It was such a wonderful session and a big thanks to Mr H-B.

We began a new RE unit this week focusing on the Holy Spirit and the Trinity. We gave own definitions of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit to begin our discussions. We will continue with our big question next week, "How do Christians believe the Holy Spirit is at work in their lives today?"

We have enjoyed three PE sessions this week and of course our wonderful PE event. Well done to everyone who took part and a big well done to the Green House for being the overall winners. Some of us attended a weight lifting session in preparation for an upcoming competition.

We received our Year 6 leavers books this week and loved reading a few of the pages together. What a great memory to keep. They are just lovely.

Just a quick reminder about Go Ape and Primary College. I sent out a couple of emails about each event this week and I have chatted to my children today too. Fingers crossed for lovely weather on Monday and Tuesday.

Have a brilliant weekend.
Your teacher.
Mrs. B.
