What can I say Year 6... you have worked your socks off and I am extremely proud of you all! Our week has been focused on SATs preparations in some areas of our learning. We have tackled different types of SATs questions and discussed our answers as a group. We have worked through a reading paper and spelling and grammar paper this week and looked at the marking scheme to discuss its content. We have sat our usual arithmetic paper under timed and test conditions. A huge well done from me.

We completed our area, perimeter and volume unit in Maths this week and then we have turned our attention to statistics focusing on line graphs and bar charts. We have been a very busy class.

We completed our documentary narrative in English this week and have even found time to edit them fully. We have begun our next unit which will be a balanced argument.

We have completed two spelling units, one on silent letters and one using i before e except after c. Our Spag homework reflects some of this learning. Please can you encourage your child to complete their homework pieces as they do consolidate our learning.

Our afternoon learning covered many different subjects from Computing to Art, from RE to PE and Music to Science. We have also enjoyed different daily worships.

We have enjoyed time in the sunshine playing on Fort Lewis and we have also spent time with our buddies today sharing our iPads which is always such a treat. Our time we spend with our buddies is precious and something we never want to miss.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and the sun shines for us all.

Your teacher,
Mrs. B.
