We have settled back into our routine and worked our way though many different areas of learning. Our proudest moment has to be coming into school in our leavers' hoodies. I think you all look fabulous in them.

In Maths this week we have continued to work on our Theme Park projects. We have developed our marketing strategies and budgeted for many different parts including A list celebrities. We have recorded our radio and television promotions and reviewed each others. We have begun to use our skills to mark a SATs paper I have completed which is littered with errors. We will continue with both next week.

In English this week we have completed a unit of descriptive writing using our T4W skills. We have analysed my model text, learnt to retell it using a story map and planned our own piece. We have completed our hot write and will edit it next week.

In Book Club this week we have begun to consider the setting and characters in the book called Explorer. We have considered rich vocabulary and used our inference skills to answer our anchor questions. I am so impressed with your detailed answers.

We have covered many other areas of leaning from RE to Science.

In RE we have begun a new unit. Our big question is: How do Christians believe the Holy Spirit is at work in their lives today? We recapped what we had learnt so far and then used REQuest to add more information. We will continue with this unit next week.

In Science we continued to learn about the heart by focusing on the circulatory system. We thought about how to demonstrate dropping off oxygen, nutrients and water and collecting waste. We went outside to walk through our circulatory system using hoops and blue and red cards and then thought about our own presentations. We will continue with this next week.

We have begun our Art unit thinking about mono printing techniques. We have prepared our own line drawings and completed different designs against the clock. We will continue with this unit next week.

We have also enjoyed two PE lessons and a Heartsmart lesson. Our Heartsmart lesson focused on body language and how it can often communicate more than words.

We have thought about Primary College this week. We have looked at all the activities we can choose from and then chose 5 we would like to take part in. Primary College will try and include at least two of them in our visit.

We welcomed Sandbach Girls into school for a visit. Unfortunately, Shavington High has had to reschedule their visit. This will now take place this week.

A brilliant week of learning Year 6. I hope you have all had a great weekend.

Your teacher.
