Another term has come and gone. Your final spring term at Wybunbury Delves has come to an end and how brilliant you have all been. Your dedication, hard work and great attitude to learning never ceases to amaze me. Thank you Year 6. You always put a smile on my face and keep me on my toes!
In English this week we completed a piece of writing in just one week. We planned, drafted and wrote a recount of one of our favourite Edale activities. We thought carefully about our word choices and how emotive language would bring our piece to life. I can't wait to read them all as I know how much effort you put into your final piece today. Thank you Year 6.
In Maths this week we have continued to work with algebra and we have now used our fluency knowledge to tackle different reasoning problems. We also finished our final assessment using all our spring learning. You smashed it Year 6. I am super proud of you all.
Our book club sessions this week have been dedicated to our Easter Service practices.
Our computing lesson this week focused on Code Studio and bringing ourselves up to date with any outstanding tasks. We can now concentrate to work on our project.
In History this week we continued to focus on Must Farm by creating our observational drawings and fact finding. We will use these ideas in our upcoming computing lessons.
Our Geography lesson this week focused on renewable and non-renewable energy as we thought about atoms of carbon in our atmosphere. We considered how carbon is released into our atmosphere and what absorbs it. We ended our lesson with a drawing of the carbon cycle.
Structures was the focus of our DT lesson as we reflected on the strength of our frames and how we can make them more rigid. We continued to create our frames and used both butt and mitre joins.
This week in our RE lesson we were introduced to a Hindu story with a strong moral. We listened carefully to the story and then thought about the important events and what they meant. We have created our lollipop characters to act this story out and we ended by reflecting on its message.
We have taken part in a PSHE lesson this week which focused on generations that have gone before us. We thought about how people have fought, campaigned and even died for us to live our lives in the way we do today. Proverbs 13:22 says: good people leave an inheritance to their grandchildren.
We have also enjoyed continuing to work on our beat box pieces. We built on our beat boxing skills and added an extra daily scenario to last week's scene. Once we were happy, we performed our scenes to the class. Well done.
We have enjoyed two PE lessons this week.
I just want to say what a privilege it has been to share our Easter Service with you today. It was a moving worship and was a joy to be a part of. Being in church makes our service even more special. Thank you for supporting us.
I haven't set any homework to complete over the half term as I think a well-deserved break has been earned by all. I know many of you have SATs buster books and I'm sure you will be busy working on some of those tasks.
Be sure to enjoy the lie ins and recharge your batteries, and perhaps some time outside, but more importantly enjoy your family time.
Thank you for all your support and I wish you a very happy Easter break.

Mrs. B.
