What a wonderful week we have had Y6. I am so proud of you all. I know I say this each week, but as we near the last half term together it is even more important that you know how brilliant you all are.

We have been busy this week in all sorts of ways.

In maths we have continued with our theme park task. We have made brochures and costed our running costs too. We are now moving onto our entrance fees and then we can begin trading our parks.

In english this week we completed our information text on Skara Brae. I am so impressed with the skills used and throughly enjoyed reading them all. We have edited our pieces and ensured our targets have been achieved.

We have all read with an adult now and talked about the importance of continuing our home reading. I haven't set any homework, but would encourage regular reading please.

We have completed our 1950's mood board and enjoyed practising and performing our Jonny B Good song in worship today. Thank you to Harry for playing the national anthem in front of our school. Harry you should be so proud of yourself. You were amazing.

We had a lovely Jubilee picnic with reception today. We all sat on our picnic blankets before heading off to play together. Have a lovely half term reception.

We have been busy setting up experiments in science to demonstrate how nutrients travel around the body. We can always find a way to use food in Y6 and our experiments proved this. We used skittles, jelly babies, eggs and some food colouring, and ink and gelatine to create discussion. We will continue with this next term.

In geography this week we used iPads to look back in time. Using Geograph.com we spent some time finding old photographs. We began with Oxford Street in London and compared it to the exact location in 2022 using google.maps. We then went on to find different locations in Nantwich and Wybunbury. We identified the change in landscape and discussed the reasons too.

We enjoyed a percussion music lesson this week with Miss Holland. We have also enjoyed PE with Sportscape and Mrs Jenkins and some of us have taken part in a cricket competition. We celebrated third place. Well done Y5 and Y6 cricketers.

I had the pleasure of supporting our Y6 members of the choir at Young Voices this week. Wow what a night. You sang your hearts out and danced the night away. I know how much you enjoyed yourselves and it was a great night for me too. Thank you for helping me with my actions. We all smiled, laughed and sang. What a brilliant night!

What can I say about my fantastic class. I am blessed to be your teacher and wish you all a wonderful half term break.

Your teacher.
Mrs. B.
