Year 5 Weekly News 03.05.24

Happy Friday, Year 5! We have had another busy and productive week! Thank you for all working so hard.

In English this week, we have been busy writing our character narrative stories using the 'The Promise' by Nichola Davies as our inspiration. Your writing has been phenomenal. I've been so impressed by the writers' knowledge you've been using and how hard you have all worked. We have also been working hard in maths. We have been learning how to use protectors and we have used this knowledge to help us find the angles within shapes. 

The hard work continued in our afternoon lessons as we covered a variety of subjects including PE, Geography, Art, RE, French Music, DT, courageous advocacy, Computing and well-being. 

In PE, we have been practicing javelin, and in RE we learnt about Jochebed from the Old Testament. She was Moses' mum, and we talked about the difficult choice she had to make to save Moses' life. 

I'm am proud to share that we finished our Big Art project, and most have us have also finished our cushions. The cushions are looking great and it was lovely to see you all supporting each other to help each other succeed. 

In Geography, we learnt about ordinance survey maps and used digimaps to investigate and ordinance survey map of Wybunbury. We were surprised at how much their is around us.
