We started the week off by time travelling. We went back to the Victorian era to celebrate our 200 year anniversary. I certainly felt like a time traveller because your costumes all looked wonderful. Thank you so much for working so hard on them and for helping us celebrate such a special occasion.

During the day, we experienced what life would have been like for a Victorian child who went to school. It was very strict! Did you know that you weren't even allowed to ask questions? That's crazy! We left the Victorian school behind and enjoyed making Victorian toys and playing Victorian games. In the afternoon, we went through our school's log book and were fascinated by the interesting things we found. We continued celebrating this special milestone across the week.  We discussed what item we would put into a time capsule to help people of the future understand what our life was like today.  On Friday, we went to church and shared a beautiful service with Bishop Mark and other important members of our schools community past and present.  You sang beautifully and those of you with words spoke excellently too.

When we have not been completing activities, preparing for and celebrating our 200 Anniversary, we have also been busy with art, study work and computing.  In Art, we have been using our colour mixing skills to paint our Georgia O'Keeffe inspired flowers.  In Computing, we continued creating our iMovies about the rainforests and in study work we have been doing our Forest Schools page.

We also had fun during our transition morning this week. You went to visit Mrs Burns and got to see your new classroom.  You enjoyed taking part in lots of fun games and got to talk about the things that you were looking forward to and worried about.  Afterwards, Mrs Burns said how wonderful you were and how she is looking forward to teaching you next year.

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend,

Miss P
