Our Maths focus has been to develop our knowledge of x7 multiplication and division facts. We have learnt about using facts families knowledge of the 5 and 2 times table to support our 7 times table.

In our English lessons, we have been writing our outsider narratives. We have worked hard to include our writers knowledge skills. Our stories are a fantastic showcase of our learning this term.

We have enjoyed reading our big cat and challenge books this week.

In our spelling lessons this week, we have focused on learning some of our Y3/4 common exception words. Particularly those which were useful in our writing.

In our well being time we reflected on what time of year or season is our favourite. We thought about why it is our favourite and it was great to hear such a variety of reasons. Our well being strategy linked to speaking to someone who really gets us. We talked about who that might be and we decided if this strategy would be in our top three.

In PSHE, we explore the Health aspect by looking at the effects of alcohol. We explored this in relation to what is good for our bodies and what is bad for our bodies. We all listened carefully and responded thoughtfully to out sorting activity.

Our other HeartSmart lesson this week was focused on our bodies and what we are grateful for. We thought about how we are grateful for our bodies for many different reasons. We are grateful for our eyes for seeing the world around us, our voices for signing and so much more!

In our History lesson, we completed our final lesson of the unit. We were asked to reflect on the question 'Were the Vikings successful invaders'. Using everything we have learnt, we wrote our own answers to this.

We have had the privilege to watch our KS1 Nativity and practise for our Church service next week.

As part of our RE learning this week, we looked at art work from a range of different artists all depicting Jesus as the light arriving on Earth. We thought about what these showed and what we liked and disliked about each piece of work. After this, we were giving the opportunity to create our own art work showing Jesus as the light. These turned out fantastically.

On Wednesday, we were very lucky to go to The New Vic theatre to enjoy a performance of The Nutcracker. It was a beautifully Christmassy show narrating a traditional story. The children loved watching the performance!

In our computing lessons this week, we have recorded our words for our podcasts. Next lesson, we will join these and add our sound affects.

For Art this week, we continued to learn about making patterns. This weeks focus was on using a rule to create a piece of work. Our rule was that the art needed to come from straight lines. When we had done this, we then chose to break the rule. We enjoyed exploring this way of making patterns.

In our final PE lesson this week, we have enjoyed exploring The Nutcracker through dance. We watched parts of Matthew Bournes nutcracker – the part where she meets the sweets. We thought about how the music reflected the sweets. We were then given a piece of music and asked to think which sweet we could represent. We enjoyed this activity and came up with some fantastic dances!

Spagtastic homework has been set for this week.
