Victorian day
We started the day by re-entering the classroom in 2 lines, boys and girls. Girls were let in for a special day as normally they wouldn’t have been allowed in Victorian times. I inspected all your hands and fingernails and you were only allowed in if you paid a penny. You had to stand behind your chairs when any adult entered the room.
With Mrs Swan you explored Victorian music and sung songs which would have been sung in the Victorian times!
For our handwriting lesson we wrote out the poem:
Good, better, best,
Never let it rest,
Til your good is better,
And your better, best.
Then the boys recited the poem to the class and the girls did the same.
We then played many Victorian games outside. We played pass the slipper and Blindman’s Buff. You then created Victorian toys creating a Jack-In-The-Box and Bird in Cage Thaumatrope.
We had such a lovely day!
