Wow! I cannot believe it's December already! Where have those 3 months gone?

In English, you have been busy preparing for and writing your hot write news reports. You wrote your news report all about Boudicca being murdered in Londium. You had to make sure you included fronted adverbials punctuated with a comma and alliteration! You all did a super job.

In maths, we have been exploring our 4 times table and 8 times table. Looking at all the multiplication and division facts! You had cubes to help you.

In science, you did an experiment sent to us from formula 1 asking us to find them a new race track. One that created enough friction for that cars to stop but not too much that they won't move. This was where you tested 8 different materials to find which one was best!

PC Nick visited us today to talk about personal safety and being safe when we are out and about. He talked to us about being safe at home. We should not: leave a key hidden outside of our house, never answer the door to someone we don't know and never tell anyone we are home alone. When playing out, we should find a safe place to stay, not stay out late or take short cuts home. We know asking permission from our parents and letting them know where we are and who we are with is a must. Being safe around water still applies in the winter months just like it does in the summer months. Being safe on the road now the darker months are here means we need to remember – stop, look, listen and think (Green Cross Code). We riding a bike, we should wear a helmet, reflective clothing, have lights and ask an adult to check our bike is in good working order. Being safe online means we do not share any of our personal information to anyone online. We definitely do not send a picture of ourselves to anyone. If we are unsure of what to do, we must speak to an adult. Stranger danger recap. We know a stranger is someone we don't know. A stranger can look like anyone! To keep us safe, we must always tell a trusted adult if a stranger asks you to: go somewhere, tries to give you something, asks you to do something that makes you feel uncomfortable – just say no!

In forest school, you started the session exploring magnets and the magnet field they create. You then classified different materials based on if they were magnetic or not. You then using a class fire toasted some marshmallows. Finally, we worked as a team to make a shelter for you to sleep in!

In RE, we explored advent and how it leads us to Christmas Day and the birth of Jesus. You then explored advent wreaths. Each candle is lit on a Sunday in advent and the final candle is lit on Christmas Day! These all look so impressive.

In computing, this week half the class created their stop motions using the app called stop motion. These are all so impressive! I cannot wait to see the next half of the class.

In geography, you explored time zones and how in different places the time changes. We used a website called cameras around the world to explore what time it was in those places and what it looks like at that moment in time!

I hope you have all had a lovely weekend!
