Another fantastic week has passed us by

In Phonics this week, we recapped all of our sounds and even practised reading some tricky red words. We read a range of RWI books to improve our blending and fluency.

In English, we completed our story inspired write of Rapunzel. Throughout the week we planned, drafted and edited our work to ensure we were including plurals, punctuation and amazing adjectives. We read some of our work out and they sounded fantastic. What a brilliant effort, team!

In Maths, we continued on our shape unit. We built our knowledge between the relationship of 2d and 3d shapes. We learnt all about faces and how 3d shapes have 2d shape faces. We went on a 2d shape hunt and completed lots of Power Maths questions on this.

In P.E, we continued our new unit of work all around gymnastics. We spent our time this week focusing upon movement and how we can incorporate gymnastic movements to transfer from place to place. It was brilliant to see your routines!

In our wellbeing time, we thought about what our most proud moments have been. We shared our thoughts of headteachers’ awards, reading certificates and swimming achievements.

This week in our music lesson, we practised our Kindness song. We did amazingly well! Our actions were brilliant and our singing was just brilliant! We can’t wait for our performance!

In History, we spent time thinking about Victorian toys. We thought about the similarities and differences between the toys of today and the toys children played with over 100 years ago. It was great to see your history skills on show!

In Art this week, we continued to build upon our knowledge of sculptures. We built some amazing badgers this week using a range of recycled materials. They looked fantastic!

In Computing, we continued our digital painting unit. We used the app paintz. To create some amazing artwork. We used the tools including fill and line. We used these to build some colourful pieces. What brilliant skills on show! We were inspired by Kandinsky and hs concentric circles. Take a look at our creations!

In R.E, we continued to think about creation. We marvelled at the amazing creations in our world and thought of some fantastic words to describe our feelings. We then looked at the other side of things. We spent time looking at when creation is ruined by humans. We thought about how this made us feel.

We loved sharing our worship to parents and carers as we spread the message of kindness. Well done, team!

Throughout the week, we also had lots of provision time. During this time we enjoyed the garden, explored the provision areas in the classroom and enjoyed some role play games with our friends. It was great to see the construction and mud kitchen areas in full use once again.

What a brilliant week!

Enjoy your weekend,

Mr Dale
