What an amazing year we have had in Year One! It has been an honour to teach you and you are all a credit to our school.

We have had many highlights to our school life this year. In Autumn term you all learnt about transport and journeys as you transitioned into Year One. You had fun retelling the journey of the naughty bus at Wybunbury Delves as he created mischief in different areas. You also experienced your first forest school in Autumn as you spent time making fires, building dens and learning archery skills. You learnt the important life skills of how to be resilient and a risk taker. In Spring term, you learnt all about animals in the zoo. We created lots of long life memories by going on our own adventure to Chester zoo so that we could see the behaviour of different animals. Now weren't they cheeky especially the jaguars and chimpanzees! You even had an animal theme day where you all dressed up as your favourite animal. In our Summer term, you were immersed into the topic of seaside. You learnt about what a seaside holiday was like in the Victorian times and we compared this to your own experiences. This Monday, we had fun in the sun whilst dressing up for our seaside theme day. We enjoyed playing in the sandpits and challenging each other to a seaside quiz. As well as all of this, you celebrated the Queen's platinum jubilee, our school turning 200 years old, sports day and a talent show. Throughout your Year One journey you became courageous advocates of the Woodland Trust and you all now know the importance of saving trees and woodlands to protect the environment. We have also spent lots of time creating our study work books so that we could share all of our learning with everyone at home. We hope you enjoy looking through these.

It's been a busy year but we have all had lots of fun. It has been a pleasure to watch you grow each and every day. You have all worked incredibly hard and have brought so much love and joy to our classroom. I will really miss you all next year but I can't wait to see all of your smiley faces come through the door. You are all so ready for Year Two and I know that you will love it!

Mrs VR, Miss Greatbanks, Mrs Cross and I would just like to say a HUGE thank you for all of your lovely messages, cards, gifts and your continued support over the year. We are all feeling very grateful!

Thank you for always being a superstar. Remember to always shine as brightly as you have done in Year One.

Have a wonderful summer! Take time to rest, enjoy the sunshine and make special memories with your families.

We will see you all in September.

Miss Haynes
