Yesterday we enjoyed a wonderful Victorian themed day to celebrate our lamazing school turning 200 years old.
Our day began bylining up outside in two lines, boys and girls. Then we had our fingernails inspected, especially the young sweeps who had cleaned a couple of chimneys before school!
Thankfully we all passed and were all allowed in, not forgetting to pay our penny as we entered.
Before settling down to our lessons we said the Lord's Prayer and sand the National Anthem to Queen Victoria. Once seated at our desks we began our handwriting lesson, formingour letters of the alphabet neatly in chalk on ourslate boards.Obviously we observed the silence in class rule and only spoke when we were invited to by Miss.
In our mathematics session we used abacuses to count in 1's, 10's and hundreds.
Whilst is was a really fun experiencebecause we got to be in character, we decided we prefer present day schoollife and lessons.
Thank you families for all your efforts with costumes to prepare us for this day, I think you will agree that everybody looked fab!
