Reception Class News 22/ 03/ 24

As we reflect on another week of growth and discovery, we're thrilled to share the highlights of our adventures in Reception Class.

Mathematical Development: This week, our focus was on recognizing, continuing, and building simple AB patterns. Exploring shapes, colors, sizes, and actions, we discovered the fascinating world of patterns. We look forward to diving into more complex patterns in the coming week!

Literacy Development: Our literary journey with 'Little Red' continued as we planned our write-ups of the opening octopus and build-up bear sections of the story. With each passing day, we become more adept writers, emphasizing the use of capital letters, finger spaces, phonics, and punctuation. Reception Class, your writing achievements fill me with immense pride!

Personal, Social, and Emotional Development: In our well-being sessions, we delved deeper into exploring emotions and identifying the events that bring joy and happiness to our days. It comes as no surprise that playing with friends and receiving hugs and cuddles from our families featured prominently in our discussions.

Language and Communication Development: Our love for reading continues to flourish as we immerse ourselves in a wonderful array of stories, rhymes, and songs. A heartfelt thank you to all the families for contributing to our love for reading with the wonderful books from home that we enjoy each day.

Understanding the World: Our Questful RE Easter journey took us on a exploration of Palm Sunday, learning about Jesus' triumphant arrival into Jerusalem. The atmosphere of celebration filled our hearts as we discovered the significance of this event. We eagerly anticipate unraveling the story of the Last Supper in the week ahead.

Expressive Arts and Design: Creativity soared as we crafted palm leaves to embellish our RE floor book and windows. Experimenting with different shades of green pastels, we created stunning effects that added depth and vibrancy to our creations.

Physical Development: In our PE session with Coach James, we engaged in team games, honing our skills while enjoying friendly competition. As we continue to play our favorite games, we recognize the importance of graceful defeat and the opportunity it presents for growth and improvement.
