Wow Reception Class!
What a fantastic way to end a brilliant week with your amazing display of sportsmanship on competing in all the races for sports day on behalf of your house team. A huge well done to the yellow team winners.

This week has been a very busy week, mostly spent completing study our work books in preparation for sharing with our parents and continuing our sports day practice in PE. We were excited to practice our first obstacle course race. After talking about what an obstacle race is, we discovered it's a race where there are things in the way that we have to get over or go around.

Then we helped to lay out our own obstacle courses, making three of the same course for the three teams; oranges, strawberries and watermelons. We had great fun completing the course in our teams and showed great sportsmanship when cheering others on and congratulating them on a win.

In music with Mrs Swan, we really enjoyed continuing to practice for our Teddy Bears Picnic. Working really hard practicing each of the different songs, we made sure we were using our best singing voices and actions.

As we will be using instruments for part of our performance, we got those out and had great fun using them for part of our show.We can't wait to share all of our learning with you at our teddy bears picnic.

In heart smart, we learnt to keep going to complete an activity. We looked at a maze on our interactive whiteboard. Boris asked us "can you persevere until you complete the maze?" "Can you look for other ways around the maze?"

We each took turns to use a counter and see if we could complete the maze, it wasn't always easy and sometimes we got to a 'dead end' but we learnt to keep trying and have a look for about her route through the maze. Then we went to our tables and had a go of a different maze with a counter, sometimes we got tricked but we persevered and always got through the maze!

Boris says "There is always a way if you look for it."
