Another brilliant week has passed us by in Year 2!

In English this week, we continued our T4W unit on meeting tales. We completed our model text complete with actions. After this, we talked about our toolkits and completed our boxing up. We changed parts of the original story. We wrote some fantastic paragraphs throughout the week filled with commas in lists, adjectives and some of us used speech marks!
We also continued to practise our handwriting and letter formation this week, keep up the hard work!

In Maths, we continued our unit on money. We continued to look at counting coins and notes. We looked at finding the total amount using bar models to help us find the answers to word problems.

In Reading and Phonics we continued to recap key sounds, spellings and practised our comprehension skills throughout the week. You all continued to read well at home and I'm blown away by the amazing book reviews you continue to be leaving!

We wrapped up our unit in Geography! We finished by writing our hot writes. We answered the question of "What do you know about Wybunbury?"
We made sure to include lots of information and key facts from throughout our learning. Your answers were brilliant, well done everyone!

On Wednesday, we took part in our third Forest School session. We started by creating some fantastic leaf artwork, they looked brilliant. We then practised our archery skills once more. We then moved on to building our fires and were able to create a hashtag fire with petroleum jelly.

We had our extra P.E slot this Friday. Hayley was very impressed with us all as we played a series of team games outside.

In R.E, we continued our new unit. We discussed the big question of "What does the visit of the Magi tell us about Jesus?"once again. We looked at different versions of the Christmas story including our own from last week, a book and an animation. We were introduced to King Herod and were able to put the story in order using teamwork!

In Computing this week, Miss Hewitt taught us all about events. We learnt that an event occurs from an action and used controllers via an unplugged activity to practise this. We also recapped previous language and even watched a tutorial of Miss Hewitt playing on her DS – we carefully watched which events she was doing.

We spent time taking part in Worship over the week. Our favourite worship was learning about Children in Need!

This week saw us take part in Anti-Bullying activities and stories. We discussed what bullying looks like and used the phrase STOP to help us remember, can you remember what STOP stands for? We read stories with hidden messages and learnt about ways to spot bullying behaviour. We also completed a PANTS lesson, whereby we looked at keeping our pants private. Well done team!

Have a lovely Sunday!
