Weightlifting competition winners!

Today, we took a team of year 6 to our very first weightlifting competition at Staffs Lifting Club in Stoke. We completed a series of events; triple broad jump, 3 minute straight arm plank, snatch (weightlifting) and tug of war. We were all amazing! We had only had one session, on Friday, with head coach Adam, to teach us the skills and techniques we needed.Alongside the competition, we had the chance to learn some other weightlifting techniques, using a 7.5kg bar, with instruction from the fantastic coaches at the club as well as Commonwealth Silver Medallist, Jessica Gordon-Brown!
We came away with a brilliant haul of a trophy, medals, T-shirts, certificates, vouchers for free training sessions and even lunch!
