PE News 4.11.22

What a fantastic first week back we've had!

We have begun our dance units and these will run up to Christmas.

Year 1 followed a great video exploring some different modes of transport. We zoomed like cars, chugged along like trains and soared like planes.

Year 2 took part in PE with Mr Dale.

Year 3 went on a fabulous trip to Roman Chester.

Year 4 started our Viking dance. We started with a warm up to the Cha Cha Slide then we listened to our music 'The Vikings'. We created a mind map of the ideas that came into our heads when we thought about the Vikings. We had some great answers like; longboats, raids, weapons and Gods. We chose three ideas to create actions to and then linked them into a short dance.

Year 5 began working on our Victorian dance. We also created mind maps, coming up with ideas like; pickpocket, Queen Victoria, industrial revolution and rich and poor. We also chose three ideas and created a short motif using these.

Year 6 were introduced to the Charleston as part of World War II. We followed a tutorial that taught us the basic Charleston step as well as the puppet, kick and swing arm movements. We'll build on this next week.
