We have had another fantastic week in PE!
We are approaching the end of our gymnastics units.
This week we have been challenged to try and work with different children to see if we could produce some different moves and balances for our sequences. We've found it really useful and most of us have thoroughly enjoyed taking on new roles and ideas!
We have continued on from last week's work but added in a focus on quality of movement. Years 5 and 6 watched some clips from the Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships. We were amazed by the strength, skill and grace of the gymnasts, who worked in trios to perform balances, counter balances and throws. It encouraged us to think about our work and what we could challenge ourselves to produce!
Along with counter balances, we have explored arches and bridges, mirrored, symmetrical and asymmetrical balances as well as taking weight onto our hands whilst moving.
Super work everyone!
Our hall is in use on Tuesday so PE for years 5 and 6 will be outside if the weather is dry. In case of rain, we will move into the classroom.
Have a lovely weekend!
