Last PE News of the Year

Wow! We've reached the end of another year and how quickly has it flown by?

It has been so lovely to have an uninterrupted year of PE!

Throughout the year we have learned and developed our skills in the Invasion games of football, basketball, hockey and netball. We have discovered varieties of pathways and linked movements, on and off apparatus, in gymnastics. We have created group, pair and individual dances to the themes of Animals, Space, Egyptians, Vikings, Victorians and World War 2. We have worked hard in Health Related Fitness, learning how our bodies move and how exercise affects us. We have perfected our athletics skills of running, jumping and throwing, putting them all into practise on Sports day and Town Sports. We have revisited the Net and Wall skills of badminton and tennis and completed the year with the batting, bowling and fielding skills of cricket and rounders.

We have also enjoyed brilliant lessons with Hayley from Sports Coaching, ranging from archery and lacrosse through to athletics and rounders!

We have competed successfully in hockey, cricket, rounders, football and athletics and look forward to a busy competition calendar next year.

We bid farewell to our wonderful Year 6! We wish them all the best at high school and hope to see them continuing to enjoy and shine in PE! It's been an absolute pleasure teaching you all!

I hope everyone has a fabulous summer holidays and look forward to seeing you all, relaxed and refreshed, in September.
