Coronation Celebrations

Across this week we have joined together to celebrate the King's Coronation. Today was a sea of red, white and blue with lots of kings, queens, princes and princesses joining in too. School has been decked with bunting and balloons. Our kitchen team prepared a lovely lunch and all our staff and children have been given a commemorative badge.We have completed activities in class to understand this moment in history and to help our children to make sense of the coronation service – its language, meaning and symbolism – as well as providing an invitation for them to consider how they might 'Let their Light Shine' as a leading light to others. There is also an opportunity to write prayers for the King as he prepares for his coronation.
