First, I just want to say I couldn't be prouder of you! You delivered your class worship today so beautifully; you spoke clearly and sang with enthusiasm. The message was clear and made us all think about how we prepare ourselves for the day ahead and whether we are sharing and demonstrating the Fruits of the Spirit. Thank you for doing such a good job, it was a great way to end another great week.
Let's look at what we during the rest of the week. In our Math, we have been learning about 2digit multiplication. We have been exploring different methods and ways of doing questions like 23 x 56. We have been developing our skills and understanding of the grid method and short multiplication. We still have work to do, but you are being resilient and growing in confidence. Well done team.
In English, we are becoming 'Professor Know-It-Alls' because we have finished our planning and started writing our biographies about Queen Victoria. We have completed our introduction and our first paragraph. In our writing, we are working hard to use the correct tools for the job, and we are cramming in as much knowledge as we can. The aim is to finish our Queen Victoria. Also, check out our Big Art portrait of Queen Victoria!
During the afternoons, we finished gathering facts about what it was like to be a Victorian child at school on Monday. Did you know that Victorian children had to pay to school, and while you were there you might have been in a class with over 80 children! On Tuesday, we began our Geography unit. We recapped our knowledge of the four points of the compass (we learnt that compass points are called cardinal points), and we went on to learn about the 8 cardinal points of the compass. Next, we used our knowledge to identify where we live in the UK, and where we live in Cheshire. We went onto identify which counties surround Cheshire too. On Wednesday, you had P.E with Mrs Jenkins and music in with Miss Holland. In music, you practiced your worship song and continued learning Adele's 'Make You Feel My Love'. On Thursday, we began working on our class worship, and we finished our R.E lesson from last week. As part of the R.E lesson, we recapped what a talent is, and we each created a beautiful puzzle piece which we will eventually put together to show how many talents our class has. On Friday, we did another run through of our worship. Then we learnt about French colours and played some French games.
Hope you have a great weekend,
Miss P
