Wow Year 4, what a lovely week of celebration!
Throughout our home learning this week, we have learnt about and celebrated everything VE day. At the start of the week, we recapped many Year 4 spelling, punctuation and grammar techniques in our SPAG.com assessment. You all showed great skills and perseverance. From Tuesday onwards, we gathered information on VE day and then you choose how you wanted to present the information you found. There were PowerPoints, posters, interviews and leaflets – I loved every single one because they were creative and individual to each and every one of you. Well done Year 4!
In our Maths lessons this week, we have learnt how to identify different types of triangles. Scalene triangles have 3 different size angles and 3 different length sides. Equilateral triangles have 3 equal angles and 3 equal length sides. Finally, a Isosceles triangle has 2 equal length sides and 2 equal length angles. You showed me in many different ways how you identify different types of triangles and even found examples around your house. I thought this would be a very tricky challenge but you all showed how you could think creatively and found triangles in the funniest of things.
I have been so impressed by the afternoon tasks you have done this week. It has been amazing seeing the baking you have been doing, the songs you have learnt, the invites you have made and the bunting you created – just to name a few. I hope you all had a lovely VE day celebrating 75 since the end of WW2.
I can't wait to see what we get up to this week!
