Year 3 News: Happy Half Term!

How has half term flown around already!? This week we've been terrific times tablers, scientific skeleton spotters and safer internet gurus...

In English this week, we consolidated lots of SPaG learning. We worked through some of our CPG workbooks and played Pointless SPaG. We recapped contractions, speech, prefixes, suffixes and lots more! Well done, teams!

In Maths this week, we recapped key column methods and completed our work on money. We also worked very hard on our times table knowledge! Everybody worked so hard to answer thousands of questions throughout the week – meaning Wybunbury won the TT Rockstars competition! You were amazing Y3! Check out the amazing results!

In Book Club we continued to read aloud and answer comprehension questions throughout the week, well done!

On Tuesday it was Safer Internet Day! We took the opportunity to discuss lots of online issues...From selfies to sharing information, we covered lots. It was great to hear such grown up answers in response to questions. We focused upon the importance of online identify and that although we can change ourselves online (avatars, usernames and characters) that we still have a reasonability to be kind and safe! We played Interland to consolidate our e safety learning...

In Science we recapped our learning on skeletons and created our word walls. We also completed a practical lesson involving our muscles and predicting which muscles we use for different exercises. We created a wonderful study work page to illustrate all of our learning in Science this term!

We finished answering our big question in R.E this week too! We thought about all our previous learning and used this to answer the question, 'what do parables tell us about the kingdom of God?' We answered this question brilliantly, making links to parables we have learnt and their hidden meanings! Well done, Y3.

In French we continued to focus upon colours. We revisited the colours from last lesson and have become really confident in pronouncing them! We finished by completing a French colour wordsearch!

During our time with Miss Holland on Tuesday, we focused upon handwriting and continued to practise the Viking Rock song. We stopped to think about some of the key music terminology such as pulse, rhythm and sang beautifully throughout the session.
