Hi Year 5!
This week is the start of the Summer Term, and even though we haven't been together at school, we have been continuing our learning at home – thank you for all your hard work.
For maths this week, we refreshed our knowledge of place value by looking at numbers up to 1 million! Wow! There has also been a TT Rock Stars battle taking place this week against the other CDAT schools. And Wybunbury (and Year 5) got the top score. Brilliant work everybody! You are my champions.
In English, we wrote a letter to a famous historical person telling them all about the amazing world we live in and the strangeness of 2020 so far. I'm fairly sure Henry VIII, Queen Victoria and all of the other people who you wrote to would be fascinated by our modern world. Some of you even said that they would probably think all our gadgets were like some kind of magic – I'm inclined to agree with you.
It has also been lovely seeing the videos and photos of the afternoon tasks (and the other exciting things) you have been doing at home this week. Some of us have been on tree hunts, some of us have been making rainbows, others have been decorating the outside of their houses to support the NHS and others have become professors for the day to teach me all about important landmarks. I love seeing all of these, so if you have done something you are proud (even if it is not work related) and want to share it with me feel free because I would love to see it.
Before I sign-off for this week, I want to say a great big thank you to all of you for all being so amazing. Keep being superstars.
I hope you all have a great weekend,
