Y3 Weekly News
We got straight back into our home-learning journeys this week, with lots of brilliant work and plenty of effort!
In English this week, we started by creating beautiful cards, posters, letters and videos for Reverend Helen. We all wish her the best and created a video to show our appreciation — take a look — https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-2h10uOjVd5y2AqnwSqwSes2SOcxwjrP/view?usp=sharing
Our main focus this week was on speech marks. We created recap posters, everybody remembered so many rules! We then used the wonderful book, "The boy, the mole, the fox and the horse" to create our own amazing pieces of speech. We added pictures and created this super interactive book full of inspiring messages. Take a look — https://www.flipsnack.com/year3wd/speech-book.html
In Maths this week, our focus continued to be on fractions. We started by looking at fractions of amounts, swiftly moving on to decimals as fractions. We learnt that 1/10 is equivalent to 0.1. We used this knowledge to answer a range of questions. On Thursday, we moved on to equivalent fractions. We used songs, games and answered questions to improve our knowledge of them. On Friday, we all completed an arithmetic questions, well done to everybody!
Our topic work this week revolved around celebrations. There were so many fantastic examples of celebration work, including happy birthday songs and focuses upon different religious celebrations.
Well done, Year 3! You all continue to work hard and make me proud each and every day to be your teacher.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mr Dale
