Take care my Y1 superstar!

Back home  /  News  /  Take care my Y1 superstars!

This week year 1 you have been brave, kind and understanding! This has been undoubtedly a hard week for everyone but I am so proud of the resilience you have shown.
At the start of the week we continued our learning as normal. Creating our own independent recounts, doing beautiful art work inspired by Kandinsky and learning why George Mottershead was a significant person in history.

On Thursday we were given the devastating news that our beautiful school had to close down for the foreseeable future. We then decided to spend our time having fun and sharing laughter between each other. We made cards for the NHS staff to thank them for their wonderful work that they do to help us, you made postcards to your friends and we spent lots of time outside enjoying the wonderful sunshine. Yesterday we made some sunflowers together so that you will always have a little part of school with you at home. I know how much you love caring for your friends at school so as we can't do this at the moment you have your sunflower to take care of. I can't wait for you to watch them grow, please send me pictures!

Year 1 this has been a crazy week but thank you for allowing me to smile and laugh with you. You have had lots of questions to ask and you have been really grown up about it all. You have been so lovely to your friends that have been upset. We have been giving and receiving lots of elbow hugs- Mrs VR and I wouldn't have been able to do this week without you all by our side. I have sadness in my heart knowing that our little school family cannot be together for a while. You have made me proud every single day. You are superstars. Thank you to you and your families for supporting me through my (nearly) first year of teaching. It has been the best experience of my life and you really are the best class ever. I am incredibly lucky to be your teacher!

To all those children who have been off this week- we have missed you all so much! I know I didn't get to say bye to any of you but I send my best wishes to you all.
Now that we move to home learning, remember this is a long journey and will take time. You are ready to go with your packs and all learning will be sent at 9am. I know how determined you are to learn and how amazing you are all doing. I want this to continue! I will be very excited to receive your work each day on our 'seesaw' app and remember I am only a message or voice record away. I will always be here for you as your teacher!

Please look after yourselves and families. Your families will need you right now so enjoy time with them. Learn something new, take walks in the fresh air and continue to have them beautiful smiles on your faces. Our Wybunbury family will be together again and we will share stories and we will remember that we got through this!

'After a storm there will always be something good.'

Keep in touch and stay safe superstars!

Your teacher,

Miss Haynes
