St. David's Day at Preschool

Today we wore yellow and celebrated St David's day. We learnt that:

– St.David's day is celebrated in Wales on 1st March.
– Saint David is the patron saint of Wales
– St David's Day is commemorated by the wearing of daffodils or leeks.
– The flag of Saint David is flown on St David's Day.

To support our learning we used tissue paper to create our own St.David flag, drew and painted daffodils, used leeks to create marks, explored a leek and carefully used a knife to chop a leek. This afternoon we developed our cutting skills, we cut out pictures of daffodils and leeks and made a hat.
