PE News-Happy Half Term

Home » News » PE News-Happy Half Term

It's been another week of brilliant work and super performances in our PE lessons!
Year 1 have finished their gymnastic unit on balancing and spinning on points and patches. They worked on the benches and mats to create short sequences of balances in pairs. They produced some lovely work, well done year 1!
Year 2 completed their Space dance. They began with the space themed Just Dance workout. Afterwards, they travelled into outer space with a journey that took them past binary stars, black holes, aliens, meteors and on a spacewalk before finally landing back on Earth.
Year 3 finished their Outdoor Adventurous Activity unit. The weather was very cold and windy but dry enough for outside. They played Around the World, a game that involves working as a team to find markers with country names and then follow the trail of countries, in the correct order, to get back to where they started. They worked brilliantly together and kept warm by running continuously between markers!
Year 4 have completed their gymnastics unit. They used benches to link a series of group balances together in a sequence. They were rose to the challenge to find unique ways of balancing everyone in the group to create either bridges or arches. Some lovely, creative work!
Year 5 have finished their dance unit based on the Victorians. They have added their Victorian nursery rhymes, which they converted into dances and the chance choreography, to the rest of their dance. They also created a pickpocket scene, in pairs, and added to the end of the dance. A super performance!
Year 6 completed their Health Related Exercise unit. They were re-tested on the 5 minute shuttle run. Wow! Almost everyone bettered their previous run five weeks ago! Great job year 6, you have really pushed yourselves this term!
Well done everyone, a brilliant week!
Next half term every class will be starting their athletics units. Please make sure your child has kit for outdoors and indoors and has suitable trainers for running!
Have a lovely half term week.
