It's had another busy week in PE even though the weather has tried it's hardest to beat us!
We've had some amazing performances and lots of hard work across all year groups! Well done!
Years 1 and 2 continued our net and wall skills unit. This week Year 1 revisited dodgeball. We practised throwing and catching, trying to be as accurate as we could. Then we discussed the rules of dodgeball before having a go at a game. In year 2 we returned to a skills lesson by revisiting all of the net & wall sports we have learned in this unit and practising those skills.
Year 3 were unfortunate with the weather as it was too windy and wet for badminton so we used the big sponge balls to recap our throwing and catching skills. We also worked on accuracy which came in very handy when we finished with a game of King of the Fort!
Year 4 were able to use the badminton rackets and shuttlecocks. We discussed all of the different shots we have practised and then rotated around stations that focussed on each skill.
Years 3 and 4 have also had another rounders lesson with Mr Dale and Miss McCurrie.
Years 5 and 6 carried on with volleyball. We rotated around a variety of skills based stations which tested the various shots we have learned this half term.
Years 5 and 6 also completed cricket and tennis with Miss Welch and Mrs Burns.
Well done to some of our children who have begun playing club matches outside of school in football, rugby and cricket. It's wonderful to hear your stories!
Have a super weekend!
