Happy Half Term Y5

It has been a week of all weathers. We played in the snow on Monday, and then played dodge ball in the glorious sunshine on Thursday. What a crazy week.

During the afternoons, and in all weathers, we've been heading outside (in teams) to the Preschool garden to help them create a willow-whip tunnel. It was a great opportunity to work as a team with the younger children, and the end product looks great. Thank you Mrs Tibbetts for making this happy. During the afternoons, we also took an in-depth look at the artwork of William Morris. We used view finders to copy his style, and we experimented with different mediums to determine which one re-created the colours the best. On Wednesday, you had P.E with Mrs Jenkins and music with Miss Holland. In Music, you continued learning how to play the glockenspiels. Miss Holland recorded you and you evaluated your performances. Finally, on Thursday, we finished our French unit by learning the names of more items of clothing. We then combined our skills to have mini-conversations.

In maths, we have moved onto a new topic – fractions. In this week's lessons we have learnt new terminology, how to find equivalent fraction and how to convert improper fractions to mixed number fractions. And, of course, it was the TT Rock Stars battle, so we have been busy times table bees too.

This week has also been E-Safety week for Wybunbury Delves. Using our knowledge from last week, we recapped what it meant to be a good digital citizen. With that in mind, we then looked at different scenarios and tried to establish whether each example was a good way to act online or whether it wasn't. This lead to some fantastic discussions. Good work team.
