Year 6, you have worked so hard this week and achieved so many goals. It’s been fantastic to see. I am super proud of each and every one of you!
In Maths, we’ve continued exploring algebra, using different equations to help us find answers. We are really enjoying this unit and all the problem-solving it brings! To round off the week, we completed an arithmetic SATs paper which is a
great way to showcase everything you’ve been learning. Well done for such a brilliant week in Maths.
In English, we have now completed our information texts, and I couldn’t be prouder of the work you’ve produced. There’s been a real buzz around our writing, and it’s been wonderful to see you using your plans and word banks so effectively. We’ve now started publishing our pieces in our author books. Super exciting!
Our spotlight is shining brightly on Geography this week. We’ve been busy exploring two different villages in northern Italy. Using lots of different sources, we investigated what villages are like as settlements and used Wybunbury as our starting point to help us compare. Looking closely at photos of two Italian villages sparked some brilliant discussions about climate, population, housing, and the kinds of amenities people might have. It has been wonderful to see your knowledge of northern Italy grow each week. Our map skills are really improving too — we have been labelling a blank map of Italy with physical and human features, just like the one in this week’s photo.
As always, our week has been full of a wide range of learning opportunities, including PE, RE, Music, French, Science, PSHE, Wellbeing, Spellings, Book Club and DT. We’ve also loved spending time in the sunshine with our Reception
buddies which are such special moments to enjoy together.
I hope you’re all having a wonderful, restful weekend and are recharging your batteries ready for our upcoming Robinwood residential. I can’t wait!
