You have settled back into a busy week and you have all worked so hard. I am proud of you.

Maths this week has been dedicated to measurement. We have worked with km, m, cms, mm, kg, g. l, ml and
miles to answer different questions. We have used them to interpret information and make predictions. Today we tackled the 2025 Arithmetic paper under timed conditions. Brilliant work Year 6.

In English this week we began by choosing an activity that we enjoyed on our residential. We have discussed, planned and written a recount of our time at Robinwood. We have used emotive language along with adjectives and adverbs to bring our pieces alive.

We have also used some of our English lessons this week to begin to recap different areas of punctuation and grammar. We have reviewed spelling patterns that we have already learnt too.

Our Book Club sessions this week have been dedicated to a SATs paper. We have used the 2023 paper to work through as a team. Answering questions independently and then looking at the marking scheme to check our choices is a very useful method and gives the children a chance to see all the different answers that are an option.

Our afternoon learning has focused on both SATs revision and other areas of learning including RE, Science, Music, PE, AYLA, Computing and Wellbeing. We have also enjoyed time with our buddies and time on the daily mile track and adventure trail.

Our standout moment this week came in our Science lesson as we continued our unit on the circulatory system. We focused on our heart this week and its function. We know many facts about our heart. The one that amazed us the most is that our heart beats over 100,000 times every day. We then went on to create hearts made out of clay and thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon of learning.

My SATs booster sessions so far have been well attended. Please feel free to make use of them if you can.

We have discussed Primary College this week and what happens during our visit. We have also chosen one activity we would like to attend knowing that two others will be a surprise.

A fabulous week Year 6. You are determined and show dedication in all my tasks and work extremely hard. I am so proud of you all. Have a wonderful weekend.
