Year 6 News – 8.5.26

What a week we have had Year 6. You have worked extremely hard and you should be really proud of yourselves.

Maths this week has been dedicated to Geometry. We have worked with angles to find missing angles in
triangles, quadrilaterals and around a point. We have translated shapes across four quadrants, made different shapes from their nets and found known parts of a circle. We have spent some time catching up on missed homework and enjoying time playing TT Rock Stars.

We have begun a new piece of writing in English this week based around the story “The Invisible Book” and
used it to write our predictions and a descriptive setting. We have shared this time with recapping different spelling patterns and we have also looked back over the twelve units we have covered this year. We have recapped contractions, possessive plurals, active and passive voice and we have enjoyed a Spelling and Grammar treasure hunt in the sunshine.

During the afternoons, we have recapped our Maths and SpaG knowledge and we have also managed to fit in two PE lessons, a Music lesson and two Art lessons. We have enjoyed time with our favourite buddies in the Reception
garden too.

I have not set any new homework. Please get lots of rest over the weekend and enjoy the sunshine.
