In English, we have completed our bargain letters and started a new unit based on the book, 'The Lost Book of Adventures'. We started by writing predictions and have moved on to explore the book. We have also written a setting poem inspired by pages from the book.
In maths, we have learnt more about decimals. We have learnt about ordering and comparing decimals, writing decimals on a number line and we have started to round decimals – focusing on rounding to the nearest whole number.
Our wow moment this week has been our Art lessons. This week, we have enjoyed creating our own buildings as part of our architectural design unit. We chose whether our designs were going to be 'big or small'. Using our learning from previous lessons, we enjoyed adding design features to make models of aspirational homes, or tiny houses, or a mixture of both. We began by drawing simple shapes on foamboard. We cut them and used them as starting points for their architectural constructions. We joined our foamboard pieces were using paper and pva glue as a form of tape. We then used ink and paint to add pattern, texture and colour. At the end of the week, we then photographed our work and reflected on the process of being an architect in our sketchbooks.
Throughout the week, we have also enjoyed two PE lessons, music, georgraphy, history, science, art and RE.
Maths.co.uk homework has been set for this week.
Have a wonderful week.
