In English, we have been working extremely hard to write our own survival narrative. You should all be very proud of the amazing work you have created this week.

In maths, we have been learning about percentages. We have learnt to find percenatges of amounts and find the link between fractions, decimals and percentages.

Our wow moment this week has been  our Computing lessons. We covered two tasks this week.  In our first lesson we gained an understanding of selection by using the ‘if… then… else’ structure in algorithms and programs. We then revisited the need to use repetition in selection to ensure that conditions are repeatedly checked. We were able identify the two outcomes in given programs and how the condition informs which outcome will be selected. We used this knowledge to write our own programs that use selection with two outcomes. In our second lesson, we considered how the ‘if… then... else…’ structure can be used to identify two responses to a binary question (one with a ‘yes or no’ answer). We learnt that the answer to the question is the ‘condition’, and use algorithms with a branching structure to represent the actions that will be carried out if the condition is true or false. Using Scratch, we learnt how questions can be answered. We then used an algorithm to design a program that uses selection to direct the flow of the program based on the answer provided. We did amazingly well across both of these lessons.

Throughout the week, we have also enjoyed two PE lessons, music, wellbeing, science, history, a heartsmart PSHE lesson and RE.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Mrs Morris
