Year 5 News 08.05.26

In English, we have three of our 4 paragraphs of our bargain letter. Using our plan, we have been constructing our writing using a range of skills including parenthesis, model verbs, adverbs of possibilty and more! In maths, we have moved on to learn about decimals. We have learnt about representing fractions as decimals and partitioning decimals in standard and non-standard ways. 

Our wow moment this week has been our visit to the moss. On our visit this week, we have comlpeted surveys of an area of the moss to see whether it is a positive environment for living things and completed some poetry work. For our survey, we created 1 metre squares and recorded lots of information about what we found – including the sward height and the number of different grasses and plants. 

We also enjoyed a fantastic lesson of computing which involved us using all of our vector drawing skills to create our own logos!

Throughout the week, we have also enjoyed two PE lessons, music, Heartsmart, Science, Art and RE.

Maths.co.uk homework has been set for this week.
